Introduction to the Parenting with PRIDE Program Featuring Eckhart Tolle’s Teachings
Welcome to a vital component of the Parenting with PRIDE program, where we integrate the profound teachings of Eckhart Tolle’s “The Power of Now” into our parenting journey. My personal experience, shaped by my child’s transition, revealed a gap in the traditional parenting toolkit, especially when confronted with situations that defy societal norms. I felt lost and with no parent groups in the area I had to find a way to process the grief and fears I was experiences. I am building a resource kit for parents based on my experience as a counsellor, therapist and parent so that other parents can feel supported with a roadmap.
This program, born from a need for deeper understanding and more effective parenting strategies, delves into the transformative potential of living in the present moment. We explore how Tolle’s principles can help us shed the ‘baggage’ of our past and meet our children, particularly transgender teens, with greater empathy and awareness.
As a first step, we invite you to participate in a pre-course questionnaire. This is designed not just to gather information, but to start a process of self-reflection and readiness for the journey ahead. Your responses will help tailor the program to better suit your needs and experiences.
